Amanda is excited to be joining the CCP as a Nurse Practitioner. Born in the Philadelphia suburbs, she first left the area to pursue a degree in nutrition from Cornell University. Her first career as a Registered Dietitian took her to Boston and San Francisco, working with women and children in the WIC program. It was after taking a position as an inpatient Registered Dietitian in the Bay Area that Amanda realized she wanted more direct involvement with the patients she was seeing and embarked on a career change to nursing. Moving back to Philadelphia, Amanda graduated as valedictorian of her class at Drexel University. For the past 8 years she has been practicing as a Registered Nurse in pediatric critical care at St. Christopher’s Hospital for Children and the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. Eager to broaden her knowledge further, Amanda recently completed her training in Advanced Practice Nursing at Jefferson University where she was honored with the Outstanding Capstone award for academic achievement. Now a board-certified Pediatric Nurse Practitioner, Amanda brings her love of pediatrics and 15 years of experience working with families and children to CCP’s medical home.
In addition to her work with CCP, Amanda is an Adjunct Professor with Drexel University’s nursing program. When not working, Amanda stays busy with her daughter and husband in South Philadelphia. They love raising a “city kid” and can be found enjoying the parks, pools, and restaurants around town. Amanda is looking forward to getting to know all the families at CCP!
