Vaccines remain our most effective tool in protecting ourselves and our community from COVID-19. We are pleased to offer COVID-19 vaccinations to all eligible, established patients of our practice. Details and appointment self-scheduling links can be found below.
Prior to your appointment, you will receive a pre-visit survey either by text or email. To limit your time in our waiting room, please complete this survey before you arrive in our office.
Part of that pre-visit survey will include a COVID-19 vaccination questionnaire. You can complete it online at your convenience using the link sent to you, or you can print a paper copy, complete it by hand and bring it with you to the appointment. Completing the questionnaire before you arrive at the office will allow you to be seen more quickly.
Please also take a moment to review the CDC’s Fact Sheet regarding the COVID-19 vaccine. This document provides important information about the vaccine, including its authorization for emergency use, clinical considerations and FDA recommendations.
If you have questions about the vaccine, scheduling an appointment or your child’s eligibility, please do not hesitate to contact our office by phone or online via your Follow My Health account.
Who can receive the vaccine at Center City Pediatrics?
Only registered patients of our practice who have previously established care are eligible to be vaccinated in our office.
What if my child has had COVID?
We recommend that your child receive their COVID vaccine as soon as they are done with their quarantine and are asymptomatic. Some experts believe that the immunity from natural infection will protect the child for several months, but this is not clearly proven. The combination of having had natural infection and then a COVID vaccine will provide the most robust protection for future infection.
Which COVID vaccine is available at Center City Pediatrics?
We will be offering the Pfizer bivalent vaccine. This requires a series of 3 doses for children 6 months to 4 years and 2 doses for children 5 years and older. You will be required to make appointments for both the 2nd and, if necessary, 3rd doses when you check-in for the 1st dose.
Which approved Vaccine is better – Pfizer or Moderna?
Although 2 vaccines are available, we are only carrying the Pfizer Vaccine. Data at this time does not clearly support the benefits of one vaccine over another. If you prefer to receive the Moderna vaccine, we encourage you to check with local pharmacies, though pharmacies are not vaccinating kids less than 3 at this time.
Can I vaccinate all my children at the same time?
Every child must have their own appointment to receive the COVID vaccine, although you can schedule consecutive times if they are available.
Will all CCP locations be offering the COVID vaccine?
Yes. All 3 locations will offer the vaccine to all eligible patients.
Can my child receive their COVID vaccine as part of their already scheduled well visit?
Yes. Although the manufacturers have not officially endorsed co-administration for the youngest group, the American Academy of Pediatrics supports this process. Let the reception team know when you arrive that you wish to have your child receive their COVID vaccine. Please note that the vaccine will be given when they are roomed – before you see your provider – to allow for the 15-minute observation period.
Is there a cost associated with the vaccine?
We will not collect any fees or co-pays for your vaccine visit.
What should I expect when I arrive for my child’s COVID vaccine appointment?
Please proceed directly to Check-in 2. You will be asked to complete a questionnaire and schedule your 2nd and 3rd dose appointments prior to receiving the 1st dose. After the vaccine has been administered, you will be required to sit with your child in our office for a 15-minute observation period.
What if my child has a history of severe reactions to vaccinations?
Please contact our Practice Logistics Manager (215-735-5600 x133) to discuss options and schedule your appointment directly.
How can I schedule my child’s COVID vaccine appointment?
For children with a well visit already scheduled, let the receptionist know when you arrive that you would like to have them received their COVID vaccine. For vaccine-specific appointments, please contact our office by phone at 215-735-5600.
