In light of recent events we at Center City Pediatrics want to remind our patients and families that we are an inclusive medical home and will continue to stand with and support ALL of our patients without prejudice.
New Year Brings New Staff to Fishtown

Happy One-Year Anniversary to both Dr. Rebekah Blutstein and Marissa Patterson, NP. It’s likely you have already met them at either our South Street or Bala Cynwyd location. Beginning this month, both will also expand their hours at Fishtown.
You can read more about them on our website, or check out their interview with our Practice Logistics Manager, Courtney. Here, they share why they chose pediatrics, what they like to do in their spare time and which piece of advice they feel is important for families to know. You can listen in here.
The timing is bittersweet as we also share news of Diana Karnilaw’s departure on March 14th. If you have an appointment scheduled with her after that date, there is nothing you need to do. Dr. Blutstein and Marissa will honor all appointments. We do ask, however, that you choose a new preferred provider when you schedule your next well visit. If you have any questions, feel free to reach out to us at any time – and please join us in wishing Diana all the best in her next chapter
Measles Update
We know many parents are worried about the current measles outbreaks and we are too!
We are saddened that vaccine hesitancy has led to increased vulnerability for children. As pediatricians, we feel even a single vaccine preventable death or hospitalization is one too many and encourage all of our families to vaccinate their children. The Measles, Mumps, Rubella (MMR) vaccine is a safe and VERY effective vaccine, two doses confer life long immunity 97% of the time!
The MMR vaccine is typically given at the 12 month and 4 year well visit. There are some situations when MMR can and should be given early – including international travel, travel to an area with an outbreak or if an outbreak occurs locally. If your family is planning travel this spring and is unsure if these circumstances apply, please call our office to schedule a visit to discuss with one of our providers.
As this situation evolves, we will continue to be in touch.
