As part of our commitment to delivering high quality medical care, the staff at Center City Pediatrics believes that periodic well checkups during infancy, childhood and adolescence are essential. These visits are important to assess your child’s growth and development and to discuss all of the topics that contribute to a healthy childhood. Below you will find more information about what you can expect at your newborn visit.
Center City Pediatrics is a vaccinating practice. We follow the immunization schedule recommended by the American Academy of Pediatrics. At your child’s newborn visit, they will be administered the Hepatitis B vaccine unless they already received it in the hospital or birthing center. The Center for Disease Control (CDC) has prepared a Hepatitis B Vaccine Information Statement you can review in advance of your visit for more information.
There are a number of topics relevant to your newborn’s growth and development that your provider will discuss with you at this visit. You will find many of these highlighted on our “Well Visit Guidelines” page. Other emphasized topics discussed at this age include sleep positioning, car seat safety, and breastfeeding. A host of newborn resources are also available on our website.
We look forward to seeing you!
