This is the story of our last 10 years!
It’s hard to believe that we have come this far. 10 years ago, when we opened our doors, we had a goal to create a community based “Medical Home” pediatric practice in Center City – a village practice in the middle of our big city. My son occupied exam room 6, our small staff roamed Rittenhouse trying to corral new patients, and I worked other jobs to help bring in income. I never expected Center City Pediatrics to evolve into what it is today.
Between our Center City and Bala locations, we now enjoy 9 providers, 21 exam rooms, and over 8500 patients. Yet, we continue to strive to follow the same philosophy. To stay true to our original intent, we now depend on the expertise of multiple advisors and committees, including our internal Quality Committee and Parent Advisory Board. We have just completed our 3rd successive accreditation as a National Center for Quality Assurance (NCQA) Patient Centered Medical Home. Achieving this certification, at its highest level, helps us also to strive to continuously stay in line with our original vision as we grow and grow and grow, simply mirroring the child population explosion of urban Philadelphia.
Over the last month we have celebrated “turning double digits” with face painting, balloon animals, music, contests and sweet treats. We hope this went a small way to showing our appreciation for you taking this journey with us.
We thank you all, our families, for trusting us with your most precious possessions whether it be now, for 1 day, or for 10 years. We value your collaboration and obviously depend on you for our proud existence. Thanks for celebrating this milestone alongside us!
