Early Access is available for children who have experienced a new illness (within the past 48 hours) and worsening symptoms. If this applies to your child, you can reserve your space in advance, at any one of our locations by visiting our website. You must have already established care with our office – i.e. you must have been seen for at least 1 preventative, well-child check-up – to use Early Access.
Early Access is not appropriate for children with chronic conditions, for symptoms lasting for more than 48 hours or for follow-up visits for a condition already discussed with your provider. Families who use Early Access appointments for these types of concerns will lose the ability to use the feature going forward.
Early Access Offers Scheduling Online
Early Access has a very specific purpose – to see children experiencing symptoms that have developed and/or worsened within the last 48 hours. Early Access does not replace the need for you to schedule a sick appointment for a child with unrelated complaints or who has been experiencing symptoms for several days.
With Early Access, you can schedule an appointment online using a pop-up that will be accessible on our website. The pop-up will not always be available. It becomes active each evening at 7:30pm and remains accessible until our office reopens at 8:00am the following morning. It will close before 8:00am if all the allocated appointment slots have been filled.
Early Access will only allow you to schedule for a specific time slot. You will not have to register for Early Access or enroll in any additional service. Simply visit our website within the specified times and you will see the pop-up.
Early Access will pair you automatically with a provider based on availability. To guarantee an appointment with a specific provider, please contact our office directly by phone for scheduling.
Early Access is Easy to Use
Early Access appointments are scheduled on a first-come, first-served basis. At the time you visit our website, you will be asked to choose your preferred office and will have a choice of any remaining available times at that location. If all the available spaces are filled, families will need to contact our office beginning at 8:00am to schedule an appointment later in the day. When using Early Access, you will be required to provide:
- Parent/Guardian Name, Email and Phone Number
- Child Name and Date of Birth
- Reason for Visit
As always, in the event of a true medical emergency please call 911 or go to your nearest emergency room.
You will receive an email confirmation of your Early Access time. Please plan to arrive 10 minutes prior to your scheduled appointment to allow time for check-in.
Early Access is Not for Every Appointment
Early Access appointments have a very specific purpose – to see children that have developed new and/or worsening symptoms within the past 48 hours. If your child has had symptoms present for several days or if your child has multiple unrelated complaints, we ask that you contact our office by phone to schedule a sick appointment.
Likewise, Early Access should not be used simply to accommodate a family’s work, school or travel schedule. Siblings cannot be seen during Early Access unless they are scheduled separately.
Early Access Frequently Asked Questions
When is Early Access available?
Early Access is available on our website every evening beginning at 7:30pm. The Early Access link will remain available until 8:00am the following morning, or until all of the available time slots have been filled. Scheduling will be allowed for the following morning only.
Can I choose my location?
Yes. When using the system, you will be asked to choose your location before selecting an available time.
Why must I choose a Reason for Visit?
Early Access is not designed to accommodate multiple, unrelated complaints or chronic conditions. It is not appropriate for children with symptoms that have lasted more than 48 hours, or as a follow-up for a condition already discussed with your provider. Families who use Early Access appointments for these types of concerns will lose the ability to use the feature going forward.
What if I scheduled an appointment, but my child feels better?
When scheduling with Early Access, you will receive an email confirmation including a link to cancel your appointment should you no longer need it. Cancelling your appointment releases that time back for other families to access. If you do not cancel and do not come, our Patient No-Show Policy will go into effect.
Can I choose which provider I will see?
Early Access will pair you automatically with a provider at your preferred location based on availability. To guarantee an appointment with a specific provider, please contact our office directly by phone for scheduling.
What if multiple children need to be seen?
Please schedule separately for each child that needs to be seen. Siblings without their own space reserved cannot be seen during Early Access.
What if my child has other symptoms?
For multiple, unrelated complaints or for children experiencing symptoms over a longer period of time, please contact our office directly by phone to schedule a sick visit.
Can I still walk-in if no spaces are open?
No. We cannot accommodate walk-ins at any time, at any location.
