Our Family Is Growing!
Please join us in welcoming two providers to our Bala Cynwyd location.
Dr. Rebekah Blutstein and NP Marissa Patterson will be joining us in February. They will be working alongside other providers at our South Street office before moving to their full-time home at Bala Cynwyd. Both will begin seeing patients in early March. Be sure to say “hi” when you see them in the office!
With the Bala team growing, Dr. Craig Barkan will be expanding his hours at the Fishtown office, also beginning in March. We look forward to having more appointment accessibility in Fishtown!
Reading is FUNdamental
We are proud to promote childhood literacy by providing a new book to every family at their child’s 9-month well visit, along with some tips about reading with your baby.
But what about older readers? Check our the Lending Libraries in our office waiting rooms. These gently used books are waiting to find a new home with you and your child! Please take one at your next visit.
Measles in the News
We have been following the recent measles cases closely and are following all public health recommendations.
There has been a total of 9 measles cases (8 within the city of Philadelphia) with no new cases reported since the beginning of this week. Based on the current case numbers, there is no recommendation for children in the first year of life to get an early MMR vaccine (except for children ages 6months -12months that are travelling internationally).
Children between the ages of 1 and 4 can get an early second dose of MMR as long as it has been at least 4 weeks since the first dose, although the second vaccine is not given routinely until 4-6 years of age.
